She’s always been a songwriter that has embraced the golden rule of ‘writing what you know’. Avril is back. Let’s see what she knows now.

A new album means *fingers crossed* a return to the MMVA stage. Avril’s infamous first appearance included a belt-less ensemble that resulted in the young singer mooning the crowd for the duration of her performance, a wardrobe malfunction that she joked about in later MMVAs. Her first performance may have had a bit of a crack in it, but Avril at the MMVAs is always perfect to us.
5. Not just a pretty face
Not only has she made a career as one of the most successful pop singers of all time, but Avril Lavinge’s skills as a songwriter is a force to be reckoned with. By penning huge hits not only for herself, but for chart toppers like Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Cosgrove, in her fourth studio album Avril’s talents as a writer will be the best we’ve ever heard.
