AVRIL LAVIGNE

5 REASONS TO BE EXCITED FOR AVRIL LAVIGNE’S GOODBYE LULLABY

1. What The Hell
What The Hell is the official comeback song for Avril Lavigne after her three-plus year album hiatus. The world fell in love with the Napanee native with her high-energy tracks Complicated and Skater Boi. While her musicality has always exhibited strength for her slower tempo, retrospective tracks, What The Hell is the perfect song for Avril to dance her way back onto the charts.
2. The Mother Fucking Princess
In an industry of female role models who wear barely-there outfits, sing about being slaves for men or just generally pushing feminism back a few decades by preaching about their dreams of Prince Charming coming to their rescue, Avril Lavigne is the self-proclaimed Mother F**king Princess. Princes need not apply.

3. A three (year) tour
In the three years since The Best Damn Thing, an album that Lavinge herself has said that she has little attachment to in comparison to her previous records, Avril has lived the married life, divorced Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley, began a serious relationship with notorious playboy Brody Jenner, become a clothing designer, released a line of fragrances, and achieved her first acting credits. She’s always been a songwriter that has embraced the golden rule of ‘writing what you know’. Avril is back. Let’s see what she knows now.

4. Return of the Crack
A new album means *fingers crossed* a return to the MMVA stage. Avril’s infamous first appearance included a belt-less ensemble that resulted in the young singer mooning the crowd for the duration of her performance, a wardrobe malfunction that she joked about in later MMVAs. Her first performance may have had a bit of a crack in it, but Avril at the MMVAs is always perfect to us.

5. Not just a pretty face
Not only has she made a career as one of the most successful pop singers of all time, but Avril Lavinge’s skills as a songwriter is a force to be reckoned with. By penning huge hits not only for herself, but for chart toppers like Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Cosgrove, in her fourth studio album Avril’s talents as a writer will be the best we’ve ever heard.
